Processed in your browser — not uploaded to our servers for processing.
Add or remove GST at a rate you choose — exclusive (tax on top) or inclusive (tax inside price). Arithmetic only.
Rate presets verified 2026-08-26 as calculator shortcuts · GST portal. Not a rate schedule — GST Council / CBIC notifications and your HSN/SAC always win.
Quick answer
Exclusive: total = base × (1 + rate/100). Inclusive: base = total ÷ (1 + rate/100). Enter the rate that applies to your item — presets are shortcuts, not official law.
Symbol only — amounts are not converted.

Where these figures come from
Every rate and threshold here is copied by hand from the official page below and re-checked on a set date — we do not scrape them automatically, so a figure never changes without a person confirming it first.
GST rate presets (5%, 12%, 18%, 28%) — Goods and Services Tax portal, Government of India
Checked 2026-08-26 · next re-check due 2026-10-15
The presets are shortcuts, not a ruling on which slab a given good or service falls into — the GST Council reassigns items periodically.
This calculator is math, not tax or financial advice. Where an official figure and our copy of it disagree, the official one is correct — tell us and we will fix it.

Frequently asked questions
How do I add GST to a price?
GST amount = base × rate ÷ 100. Total = base + GST. Example: ₹1,000 at 18% → GST ₹180, total ₹1,180.
How do I remove GST from an inclusive price?
Base = inclusive ÷ (1 + rate/100). GST = inclusive − base. Example: ₹1,180 at 18% → base ₹1,000.
CGST, SGST, or IGST?
Intra-state supply usually splits GST equally into CGST and SGST. Inter-state supply uses a single IGST line equal to the full GST amount. Confirm place-of-supply with your CA.
Are the dropdown rates the official GST schedule?
No. Presets are calculator shortcuts only. Item rates are HSN/SAC-specific and change when the GST Council notifies updates. Always confirm the rate for your goods or services on the GST portal or with your CA.
Is this tax advice?
No. TryCalculatingNow shows arithmetic only. Confirm rates and place-of-supply rules with your CA or GST portal.
