Frequently asked questions
How do I add GST to a price?
GST amount = base × rate ÷ 100. Total = base + GST. Example: ₹1,000 at 18% → GST ₹180, total ₹1,180.
How do I remove GST from an inclusive price?
Base = inclusive ÷ (1 + rate/100). GST = inclusive − base. Example: ₹1,180 at 18% → base ₹1,000.
CGST, SGST, or IGST?
Intra-state supply usually splits GST equally into CGST and SGST. Inter-state supply uses a single IGST line equal to the full GST amount. Confirm place-of-supply with your CA.
