How do I add sales tax to a price?
Multiply the price by the tax rate and add it. Total = price × (1 + rate ÷ 100). For a $100 item at 8% tax, the tax is $8 and the total is $108.
How do I remove tax from a total (reverse VAT)?
Divide the tax-inclusive total by (1 + rate ÷ 100). If a bill is $108 including 8% tax, the pre-tax price is 108 ÷ 1.08 = $100, and the tax was $8. Use the "Remove tax" mode.
